MagicMail Migration to the new AtMail
The Rice Belt mail experience is about to get even better. Customers of our email accounts will see improvements to their email service in early April, 2025.
MagicMail will be migrating to our new AtMail email service. Check out the new features below.
Advantages of our upgraded email service
• Fresh, modern appearance – Our updated webmail login page and user interface will have a new look you’ll enjoy.
• Increased security – Your email will be protected following the highest standards of infrastructure security, including data encryption and ISO 27001 certification.
• Continued data privacy – Unlike email services like Gmail and Yahoo, your data stays private with your Smithville email account. We’ll never share or sell your data.
• New functionality – The improved user experience includes more ways to easily work online and quickly find what you need.
What stays the same
• Email address – You will keep your email address. It will NOT change.
• Contacts and email history – After the upgrade, you’ll continue to access your email messages in your folders, such as inbox and sent messages, as well as all of your contacts.
• Username and password – When you login to the upgraded email system, you will use your current login credentials.
• Third-party email client integration – If you use a third-party email client, such as Microsoft Outlook, Spark or Apple Mail, you can continue using your email as before.
Next steps
The upgrade is automatic. There’s nothing you need to do to get these improvements.
The email interface and new, improved functionality will update early to mid-April.
We recommend verifying your personalized settings after logging into the updated system, including your time zone, email signature, and email forwarding rules.

Customers who are notified of the deactivation of their account (ending with @ricebelt.net; by May 31, 2025) and wish to keep it, can contact:

If customers choose to not contact us their email account will be deleted, resulting in loss of access to messages, folders, and files associated with the account.

What is happening with my email?
The email service you use with Rice Belt is getting an upgrade. The login page and email user interface will have a new look and improved, modern functionality.
Why is Rice Belt upgrading my email?
Technology changes quickly, and it’s time for our email service to undergo an upgrade. The upgraded service will not only function better, but it has enhanced security features to align with modern standards.
When will the email upgrade take place?
The login screen will appear different at the beginning of April 2025. The full upgrade will take place in early to mid-April 2025.
What actions do I need to take?
There’s nothing that you need to do to get the email upgrade. The upgrade is automatic for all of our email accountholders. Once you are logged into the updated system, we recommend that you verify your personalized settings, including your time zone, email signature and email forwarding rules.
Will my email address change?
No, your email address will not change.
Will my password change?
No, your password will not change. Once the email system is updated, you can easily change your password whenever you’d like in the email settings.
Will my data be lost?
No, your data will not be lost. We will ensure that your data is migrated to our new system after the upgrade, including your inbox, folders, documents, emails and contacts.
Will the user interface change?
Yes, the user interface will change if you use web mail. The appearance will have a fresh, modern look. There will be new, improved functionality that’s easy to use. We’re upgrading to an intuitive, user-friendly layout, so you’ll be able to find things quickly and easily. If you have questions, please contact us and we’ll be happy to walk you through it.
Can I still use a third-party email client?
Yes, you can use a third-party email client, such as Microsoft Outlook, Spark or Apple Mail. If you use a third-party email client, you likely will not notice a difference at all. You will, however, benefit from improved security and continued email privacy provided through our email system.
Will my service be interrupted?
Most email accounts are updated within a few minutes, so you are unlikely to notice any interruption to your email service.
Why should I look out for scams?
It’s wise to stay vigilant to protect yourself and your email account, especially during times of change. Always check that emails and messages from Rice Belt are really from us.
Scam safety tips:
• Check that the information is from a trusted source
• Look for misspellings and odd fonts and formatting, which could indicate a scam
• We will never send a Smithville representative to your home to collect payment
• We will never ask you to pay for a service in any way other than your bill
• When in doubt, call Smithville back directly to verify the source
• Contact your bank immediately if you realize you have entered your payment details on an illegitimate site.
• Reset your password immediately if you realize you have entered it on an illegitimate site.
• Ensure your email password is strong, and do not use the same password elsewhere.
Will there be an issue with my Smart Phone receiving emails?
Yes, if you use a third-party email client on your phone to check your email, you can continue to use the service. You may be prompted to login to your email account again after the upgrade.
If you need assistance recovering your password, follow these instructions:
To recover your email password if you’ve forgotten it, you can navigate to the webmail login page and click “Reset my password.” If you’re already logged in and wish to change it, you can do so by clicking the square icon to the left of your email address to see more options, then click “Settings,” then “Accounts,” then click “Change Password.” Give our Technical Support Team (via Smithville) a call at 800-742-4084 if you need help resetting your password.
Using a computer web browser (like Safari, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc), you can also go directly to the webmail login page to check your email.
Can I still use a third-party email client?
Yes, you can use a third-party email client, such as Microsoft Outlook, Spark or Apple Mail. If you use a third-party email client, you likely will not notice any difference. You will, however, benefit from improved security and continued email privacy provided through our email system.
In the rare case that you can no longer connect after the upgrade, you may need to update your email client’s account settings.
Here are the port configuration settings you’ll need to use:
• Incoming server
— mail.bluemarble.net
— Port: 993 for IMAP, 995 for POP3
• Outgoing server
— mail.bluemarble.net
— Port: 465 for TLS or 587 for STARTTLS
