JOB SUMMARY
As an Outside Technician for Rice Belt, this position is responsible for assisting the organization in running daily operations to keep customer service up and running. The Outside Technician is expected to work independently to make important decisions regarding installations, trouble tickets and identifying optimal drop locations all while providing world class customer service.
This position will also participate in pedestal maintenance, construction and fiber splicing. The Outside technician will run equipment such as forklifts, small pumps, generators and fiber splicing trailers.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Expected use of truck, tractor, mini-excavator, trencher, vibratory plow, splicer, and more
KNOWLEDGE, SKIILS and ABILITIES
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage with customers and team members in a professional and courteous manner
- Attention to detail
- Good project management skills; ability to work to deadlines
- Methodical and analytical approach
- Expected to learn on the job – how to operate all equipment safely as safety is the most important aspect of this position
- Commercial Driver’s license or experience with equipment is a bonus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Manual dexterity, walking, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching at/below and above shoulder level, lifting up to 30 pounds, talking, hearing, and close, distance, color, and depth vision.
- Sometimes climbing and lifting 31 up to and over 45 pounds.
- Rarely sitting.
